The LIGHT team carried out awareness-raising broadcasts on radio stations and also in Jacmel's communal sections. Questions focused on violence against women and girls in the respective communes. The audience is estimated at 7,000 people. The topics discussed elicited a number of reactions from the audience.
On Sunday, March 27, 2022, on the occasion of International Women's Rights Day, Organization LIGHT and its partner, organization TRAPOSA, organized a conference-debate on the theme of "women's leadership and local development". Over 80 women, including two government officials, attended the event, which aimed to raise awareness among women, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, of their potential leadership and commitment in their communities.
World AIDS Day is commemorated every December 1 throughout the world. In Jacmel, Haiti, The Organization LIGHT has organized a commemoration of the day in collaboration with its partners, the Foundation for Reproductive Health and Family Education (FORSREF) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
Light was delighted to distribute toys to the kids at la Vallee de Jacmel in Dec. 2020 to celebrate Christmas. More than 500 kids were happy to receive those toys. This activity was held in the presence of the Mayer of la Vallee de Jacmel.
